Joseph N. Gelormino, 96 of Northern Cambria, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.
He was born November 14, 1927, to the late Nicholas V. and Alice (Mongelluzo) Gelormino. He married his beloved wife Felicia “Babe” (Novella) on June 9, 1956, and shared 67 wonderful years of marriage.
Surviving by his wife Felicia; five children, Joseph (Michele Kirk), Patricia (John) Wargo, Felicia Sandra (David) Young, Robert (Nancy) and Ronald (Wendy); ten grandchildren, Diane (Andrew) Myers, Jeffrey (Sarah) Wargo, Daniel Wargo, Laura (Nick) Dlugonski, Michael (Kaitlyn) Young, Michelle (Josh) Kaufman, Brian Young, Jessica Gelormino, Cassidy Gelormino, and Bobby Gelormino; nine great grandchildren, Anna, Landon, Emily, Jase, Hudson, Grayson, Makenna, Colson and Brody and a sister, Mary (Francis) Westwood.
He was preceded by siblings, Lucy (Bernie) Born, John (Helen) Gelormino, Louis (Maria) Gelormino, Amato Gelormino and James Gelormino.
Joseph was a U.S. Army Veteran and retired from Iron Workers Local Union #3, Pittsburgh, where he was a life member for 75 years. He was also a member of the Patton Fire Company and Patton Eagles Foe Aeria 1244.
Joe loved spending time with his family, helping out at Music Mart with his children and listening to polka music.
Friends and family will be received Friday, February 2, 2024, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Barrett Funeral Home, 822 Philadelphia Ave., Northern Cambria. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Church, 811 Chestnut Ave., Northern Cambria. Committal will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hope Fire Company, 1023 Philadelphia Ave., Northern Cambria, or Veteran Memorial Ambulance, 202 Juniper St., Northern Cambria.
